What is a PDO thread lift?
A PDO thread lift involves placing special threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO), a biodegradable material, inserted beneath the facial skin. The thread is inserted with a very thin, specially designed tubular needle that allows the placement of the thread. Once placed under the skin, the thread anchors to the surface with tiny barbs, lifting the skin and tissue to restore it to its former, youthful position.
What should I expect with a PDO thread lift?
A PDO thread lift is a safe treatment, and the threads are FDA-approved. After local anesthetic is administered, the areas to be treated are marked. A needle will be used to create a tiny opening for the insertion of the threads. The needle is guided along the line to the right location to achieve the lifting effect. At that point, the needle is slowly withdrawn. The action is repeated for each thread placed.
